Senior Kinzy Mathis plays varsity slowpitch softball for Broken Arrow High School and head coach Randall King.
As a pitcher for the Lady Tigers, Mathis finished the season last year with a record of 27-1. At the plate she was just as effective hitting .563 with 54 hits and 21 RBI’s.
Her talents on the diamond have earned her a scholarship to play softball at the next level.
“I am attending Connors State College on a softball scholarship next year,” said Mathis. Coach King said Mathis was an outstanding and a great choice as an academic athlete of the month.
In the classroom Mathis carries a 4.0 grade point average, 4.29 weighted. She is currently taking AP Calculus and is a member of several clubs including National Honor Society, Interact Club and COLABASH.
“My favorite class is calculus because I enjoy the challenging problems,” said Mathis.
For her commitment to her education, her teammates and Broken Arrow High School, Kinzy Mathis is the Huntington Learning Center Academic Athlete of the Month.
