Dale fans remember 2012 well. It was the last time the Lady Pirates won a state title in slow pitch softball. That could all change real soon.
Coached by Andy Powell, the LAdy Pirates are off to an amazing state this year. The team has ripped off 32 straights wins with three games left on the schedule. Those include a game today at No.11 Bethel, the 19th versus Class A Varnum and Class 6A No.12 Harrah to end the regular season.
During this stretch the Lady Pirates have recorded nine shut outs and have outscored opponents, 432-88. Yes, 432! Obviously ranked No.1 all season in Class 4A, the players and mostly coach Powell knows it’s not the perfect record or the total scores, it’s how you finish. If the Lady Pirates can pull if off, it will certainly mark one of the greatest slow pitch softball seasons in Oklahoma high school history.
